If you don’t own the game yet, get Gothic 2 from GOG.com which is DRM free there and runs out of the box. Click on the links mentioned here, create an account using the signup in the top bar on the GOG.com website and buy the game. You automatically get when creating an account 14 free GOG games (+ some dlc’s) added to your account so you have nothing to loose, only to receive! Make sure the setup file is downloaded into your download folder before running the Crosstie, so that Crossover recognizes the file and launches the setup automatically.
When inside a Mac, the offending code tweaks the user-defined preset of Safari and Chrome. The configuration that’s subject to this effect includes the homepage, default search and new tab page. The aim is to make sure the browsers keep on sending traffic to goto.peak-serving.com. GOTTCHA was tested successfully on our Linux servers (Ubuntu 12.10 w/ Perl v5.14.2; Ubuntu 10.04 w/ Perl v5.10.1) and Macbook Pro laptops (MAC OSX 10.8 w/ XCODE v5.1). How to install GOTTCHA? Use this CrossTie… to install the GOG game into Crossover
Make sure Crossover is installed before downloading/running the CrossTie. Or use Porting Kit.
Important: The files: vdfs32e.exe and vdfs32d.exe are not needed and needs to be deleted after installation of the game into the wrapper. You can find it int the wrapper (Rightclick wrapper –> show package content –> c_drive –> program files –> navigate to gothic game folder –> system –> and delete the 2 files. In the same folder you also have to replace the gothic.ini file with the one brought with the wrapper (iMac or Macbook gothic.ini version). Then you are done and ready to play!
Game description:
The glorious days of the once productive mines in this small seaside region were long over.
